“The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon 13th Vineyard comes from a slightly higher elevation site and is a mix of clones, with the vines planted mostly in 1996 and 2000. As with most top 2021s, it needs bottle age, but it’s just loaded with potential. Full-bodied aromas and flavors of red, blue, and black fruits, graphite, spicy oak, and chalky minerality all shine in this beauty, and it’s focused, full-bodied, and structured. It picks up more violet and floral notes with time in the glass, and it’s very much in the focused, concentrated, pure style of this great vintage. Hide bottles for 5-7 years and enjoy through 2051.”
